by Mr D McDaid - Wednesday, 2 April 2014, 2:34 PM

Childnet 2014 Film Competition

Now in its fifth year running, Childnet is delighted to announce that our annual film competition is now open and we would like to invite all schools and youth organisations across the UK to enter our challenge. Positive and inspiring use of the internet remains at the heart of our Film Competition 2014 and we have two separate projects in place for primary and secondary aged children. This year the themes revisit the key messages from Safer Internet Day 2014.

Secondary Theme

We challenge you to create a 2 minute film expressing...

What does a perfect online world mean to you?

Just make sure your films reach us no later than Friday 20th June 2014 to be in with a chance of winning.

All shortlisted finalists will be invited to join us at a private screening of their film in front of our judging panel and industry guests at the BFI in Central London, where they were awarded some fantastic prizes for their schools!

For more information, see the Childnet site.

Any interested parties, please see Mr McDaid.

Test Valley Telegraph: Fourth Edition

Hello and welcome to the fantastic fourth edition.

We have a wide variety of creative writing from poetry to personal writing. In addition, we have a selection of articles about Christmas. It may seem ages ago but read them through and make your own decision. Is Christmas overrated? As always, if you would like to contribute come and meet the team – now on a Tuesday in Room 36A.

Proposed Trip to Boston and New York  Proposed Trip to Boston and New York  Proposed Trip to Boston and New York

After enjoying a successful trip with 45 pupils to New York and Washington a year ago we would again like to offer a similar trip for the October half term holiday of 2015. This time we have altered the itinerary slightly, but feel that this trip will offer pupils a fantastic educational experience as it will give them an opportunity to explore a variety of different locations on the East Coast of the United States. Travel will be by air from Heathrow to Boston and then by coach to other destinations.
